Del Camino offers students the opportunity to board their own horses at the
ranch. Besides the quality and consistency of the horses' food and
water, cleanliness and their safety, comfort, and social well-being is the
focus of the board and care program.
Inside 12 x 12 stalls have automatic waterers
and are bedded with pine shavings. Stall lights, blanket bars,
automatic mist fly control, individual fans, and mist cooling are all well
maintained. Outdoor pens are roomy 12 x 24 half-covered pipe, with automatic waterers
and bedded with pine shavings. All stalls and pens have shavings replenished
twice weekly or as needed.
Board includes alfalfa or grass hay fed
twice daily, owner's supplements fed with lunch, mineral salt block, and
daily stall cleaning. Timothy hay is available at an additional
charge. Tack space in the
client tack room is provided. Additional locker space may be rented
on a first come first served basis. Ample crossties and wash racks
with hot water are available, all with non-skid cushion mats.
Dinner, turnout, grooming,
blanketing, fly masking, and other services are available on various board
plans or a la carte.
Our stable staff are
trained in safe horse handling procedures, and to recognize a horse in
distress. They are also trained in our emergency and disaster plans in
the event of severe storms, flood, fire, power outage, water outage, and
have access to emergency supplies and management mobile numbers at all
times. Emergency numbers and other helpful information is posted in
the secured Client tackroom, in the event you visit your horse after normal
hours and need assistance - expert help is never more than a phone call
away.
The 20 acre professional training facility includes a
grazing lawn, pipe turnouts, hot walkers, a half mile exercise track,
covered lighted round pen, and groomed arenas with sand footing.
